SINGAPORE : The Ministry of National Development (MND) has reiterated that it is reviewing the Housing and Development Board's (HDB's) Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS).
"Pending the ongoing review, HDB will not proceed with the sale of the Bendemeer Road site, originally scheduled in 1H2011," MND said in response to a media query.
This came after National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said he had suspended future land sales under the DBSS in response to comments made on his Facebook page by users who were reacting to his latest blog post.
However, Mr Khaw said that a few DBSS land sites sold last year, such as the Centrale 8 site, would launch their sales in the next few months.
He said these were old tenders which were beyond his control.
In his blog, which was put up over the weekend, the minister said he has been doing all he can to calm the housing market, but he cannot do this alone.
He said the media can do its part by not publishing sensational articles.
He also took issue with a recent Business Times report, highlighting what he called serious errors and inaccurate figures on the profit margin for the developer of Centrale 8.
